October 1, 2009 - Profile Drafting Block Design Workshop

The Guild hosts a workshop by Bettes Silver-Schack at Medford Leas from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a break for lunch (please bring your lunch).

This workshop is intended to help you understand the enormous potential for designing with block diagram designs. We will quickly review the rules of thread by thread drafting and then move to an analysis of block designs. By the end you will be able to design patterns from your profile threadings, generate designs in either the drawdown area or from the tie-down area, and understand how to substitute thread by thread notations for those designs. We will also do a case study of Rep Weave designs during which you will see how a simple 4 block design can generate up to 8 blocks of color.

Our work will be done with pencil and paper. Please bring paper scissors and either a glue stick or some scotch tape. Cost $25. An additional fee of $3 is payable to instructor at the workshop for handouts.
